Make Your Own Embellishment

Hello Scrappy Friends.  Happy Monday! It's October already and a bit hard to deny with the cooler temperatures and changing leaves.  Time to embrace the new season ;) Over at Use Your Stuff, we have a new challenge: Make your own embellishment. My project to share with your this week has a fall flair, celebrating the beautiful fall colors.  I created a Post-it note holder and coordinating pen.

I have had a few of these acrylic frames in my "Altering" drawer.  It was a preety quick project.  The tag and handmade flowers are the embellishments I created.   I used a scrap of fall themed patterned paper inside the frame.  The tag was punched with an EkSuccess punch.  I diecut "Thanks" with a Tattered Lace mini alphabet die.  The scrolls were cut from a Sizzix Alterations Festive Greenery die.  I brushed it with Tattered Angles Cowboy Glaze for a coppery shine.
The flowers were created with Heartfelt Creations Sunflower stamp and die.  I colored them with Colorbox Chalk ink, shaped with Heartfelf Creation flower shaping kit and added some beads for the centers.

To make the pen coordinate, I cut and rolled a small piece of the patterned paper and inserted it into the barrel of the pen.

I hope you will join us this week and share your own project with your own embellishments.  Stop by the Use Your Stuff blog to see the Design Team's creations!

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts!
