Cruising Mini Album - Lots of pics!

A new mini Album to share with you today...

I made this book for a few great friends in Rose and Vlad Puerto Rico.  We met on our cruise last fall.  It was their Honeymoon cruise.  We hit it off instantly.  I wanted to make them something special to remember their honeymoon and that fantastic trip!

I didn't get a chance to do a video before we left on our trip.  When I got there, the lighting was not very good, so the video didn't come out so great.  Here are all the detail pics... (

The Album has a chipboard cover and binding.  The size is 8 1/2" square.

I used some fish net I had in my stash with some shells that I found on our cruise for the cover.  The die-cuts were cut from my Silhouette Cameo from white cardstock.  I used Distress ink to color the ship steering wheel and the "Let's", and I used Tonic Studios Crystal drops to add the enamel look to the "Cruise"  The border punch throughout is the shell border punch by Martha Stewart.

The paper I used throughout the book is Sweet Mint by Craft Smith.   This is the inside front cover.   The clip and tag are removable.  It opens up and has a belly band on the right side and a photo and journaling spot on the left.

Each page is a pocket page.  The right side pages all have a removable Photo Folio in the end pocket.

here are a few close-ups... The banner at the top is glued only on the edge, so that a photo can slide under.

This page has a divided side pocket for two long tags and three horizontal pockets with graduated sized tags.

I did a bit of stamping on a few of the tags.  The corner punch is from Martha Stewart.  I cut the cruise ship from my Silhouette, pieced it together and colored it with Distress Markers.

The Bon Voyage on the pullout folio was cut from my Silhouette, colored and paper-pieced together.  I used a cutout from the paper collection to make the pocket on the main page.

This next page is an angled pocket with a horizontal water fall on the base of the page.  I used a border punch for the edge and distressed everything with Distress Ink.  Tags and sentiments are from the paper collection.  The page is magnetized to stay closed.

Seas the Moment was cut on the Silhouette in white, colored with Distress Markers and paper-pieced together.   The journaling card was distressed and mounted on cardstock for a pocket on the base page.

This was a fun page to create.  On the left side, I created a palm tree... (again from my Silhouette, colored and pieced together)  I added some sand that I had collected on our cruise for the ground under the tree.  The border was punched with the shell border punch and distressed with Distress Ink.  This page is magnetized to keep it closed.

On the inside, lots of room for photos and journaling.   I cut out a ship's wheel for the right flap, and created a pocket on the back of that page.

On the outside of the folio, I created a beach chair and added some more sand and a book.  I am not sure what I ever did before my Silhouette! I love that machine and all of the money it saves me on embellishments :)  I also LOVE creating the embellishments... such fun.

This page has a small accordion fold-out with a pocket and tag on the front.  I love how that little coconut drink came out!  Plenty of room on these pages for journaling and large photos.  The Splish Splash is glued down just on the bottom  and left side, so you can slide pictures or tags behind.

The outside of this folio has flowers at the top and bottom as photo holders.  On the base page are a few Silhouette cut-outs.  I added chunky glitter to the "Cool" and colored the rest of the sentiment with Distress Inks.

This is a gatefold page with a double flap on each side.  I used some brass buttons from my stash for the closure and wraped Jute Twine around in a figure 8 to keep it secured.  Each side has a belly band to hold small photos or memorabilia.  The center of the gatefold has a large pocket.

The sun was going down by the time I got to these last few photos of the album.  I didn't realize how grainy the photos were becoming due to the lack of light.  Photography is a work in progress...
Fun at Sea was cut on my Silhouette and colored with Distress Markers.  I added a few Dew Drops for the water splash look.

The 6th and last page has a large pocket with two extra large tags for photos and journaling.  The bottom flap is magnetized and opens up for more surprises.

The back cover has a flap with a tag for photos to slide in.  When you open the flap, you see the large pocket and tag.  the flowers were made with the hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart.  I used Tonic Nuvo Crystal Drops for the centers.
