Fiddle'n Frogs - CAS Card

Hello Scrappy Friends!

Back to share a quick CAS card with you.  Yes, it's me, with a CAS  I think it is my First EVER CAS card.

For those of you that know me, I tend to be much more apt to add TONS of detail to all  of my projects.  I thought I would try to keep it simple for once :)  I hope you like it and find some inspiration.

We have a new challenge every Monday at Use Your Stuff challenge blog.  This week's challenge is to use pop dots in your project.  That, my friends is an easy task for me :)  I love to pop stuff up!

For this challenge I submit my first Fiddle'n Frog project.  It is using the new Winking Frog Collection.  I have been so excited this week to break it out and play.  The image was stamped with Peeled Paint Distress ink.
I have a quick tip to share with you about that...  I just love the whole Distress line.  They are so amazing with water, but I have struggled with stamping with the ink pads.  I found that they tend to bead up on the stamp and give a blotchy image when stamped.  Have you had the same challenge?
I have great news!!  I have found a solution!
What I do is ink up my stamp first with Versamark clear ink, then ink right on top of it with the Distress Ink.  This gives the ink a great base and it doesn't bead up at all.
Try it and let me know what you think!  I am so happy that I don't have to invest in another whole line of colours :)

The technique is in the layers.  I stamped the image two times.  I used the first image on my card base.  I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Ovals to diecut the second image.  I added the pop dots to the back of the oval, and lined it up with the base image.

I thought it was missing something... so I added a pop of colour with some chalk ink on the fiddle.  The sentiment was die-cut wth the Avery Elle Sentimental die set.  I die-cut three of them and glued them together so it has some dimension.

The inside sentiment is from the Fiddle'n Frog stamp set.

I hope you will stop on by the Use Your Stuff challenge blog and play along!

Until next time...
Happy Scrappin'!
