Center step Easel Card

05:00:00

For my second submission to the Heartfelt Creations Design Team, I am proud to submit this card,  Fancy fold cards are so fun.  I have previously created step cards, and also easel cards.  I thought it would be fun to combine the two!

~~~Here's my take~~~
I used CTMH cardstock for the base and patterned paper from K&Company - Susan Winget paper stack.  I used Heartfelt Creations Enchanted Mums cling stamp and coordinating die to make the flower.  It was colored with Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord Distress ink.  I added Prills in the center.
The ovals were cut using Heartfelt creations Eyelet Oval Die set. I distressed the edge with Wilted Violet Distress ink.
I stamped, then  die-cut  with the dragonfly and sentiment banner with Heartfelt Creations Enchanted Dragonfly stamp and Die.  I colored the the dragonfly with Peeled Paint and Wilted Violet Distress ink, and added some chunky glass glitter with Art Institute Dries Clear Glue.  I used a white gel pen to add the flight trail from the dragonfly.
Here is the sides view.  The thing I love the most about this fancy fold design is that it locks itself in place when opened up.
The border on the bottom was made using the Heartfelt Creations Regal Borders and Pockets die.  I popped it up on the easel flap using StampinUp! Dimentionals.
Here are the details:
  • Start with the flowers - stamp and color them, then cut them out with the coordinating die.  You can see Emma Lou's amazing tutorial on shaping the Enchanted Mums HERE.  I added Prills to the center with Art Institute Dries Clear Glue.
  • Cut the fancy border with the Regal Borders and Pockets dies.  The lacy part is attached with Art institute Dries Clear glue.
  • Stamp, cut and color the dragon fly and banner using Enchanted Dragonfly Cling Stamp and dies.  Add foam adhesive to the back of the banner so it will pop a bit.
Card base:
  • Cut the card base: 12" x 6"
  • Line the cardstock up in portrait position on your cutter at 1 5/8", then 4 3/8" and cut from 1" to 5"
  • On your ScorePal, line your card base in landscape position and score at 1" to the cut line and continuing from the second cut line to the edge.
  • Repeat the same scoring positions at 2" for the outside sections.
  • Score the middle section only at 4".
  • Score the outside sections again at 5".
  • Score across the whole card at 8 1/4"
  • Fold the card on the score lines as pictured:
  • Cut your pattern paper for matting: Cut 2: 2 7/8" x 1 1/2", cut 1: 5 7/8" x 5/8"
  • Distress your papers if desired.
All set to assemble your layers with your favorite adhesive, then you are done.
I hope you enjoyed looking and try one of your own!
I look forward to reading your comments :)
Happy Scrapping... until next time!
