July Snowman Tag

Frosty snowman lemonadeMy sister-in-law Ashley just got a new Bigz Die for a canning jar.  That is what started the inspiration for this tag.  In my search for summer snowman ideas, I saw bottles of water - "melted snowman", I saw puddles of water representing what WAS a snowman, and then I came across a glass of water in a beach setting with snowman parts ice cubes.  This was probably my favorite summer snowman idea Pinterest.  I had cut the jars out way ahead of time as my SIL lives 5 hours away.

I cut the jars from vellum thinking that it would be see-through enough for what ever idea I came up with.  I die cut two layers.  When I figured out the logistics of my plan, I ended up cutting the center out of the top layer of vellum so you could see inside the jar better.  For the inside, I filled a plastic baggie with hair gel and coloured it with Distress Lemonade reinker. I put dew drops for the eyes, a free-hand cut foam nose, sequins for the mouth and a felt hat.... Melted snowman - for lemonade. I sandwiched the plastic Baggie of "Snowman Lemonade" with score-tape around the edges.  I diecut the lemon slice layers on my Cricut for the top of the jar.

I layered white cardstock with CTMH Hollyhock cardstock and lemonade patterned DSP.  The awning was made with 3/4" strips in alternating shades of yellow. I used my corner rounder to make the points on each strip, then mounted them on hollyhock cardstock and scored them on my ScorPal.

The lemonade sign was made on black cardstock to look like a chalkboard. The "frosty" was stamped with glue and sprinkled with glitter. The "lemonade" was stamped with white pigment ink.

How fun!
