December Snowman tag

In search for a new technique, I settled on a mosaic effect.
mosaic technique, spellbinders poinsettia die, Christmas tag, snowman tagI had found some foil tape at the Dollar Tree and applied to to some cardstock to give it some strength.  It was too flimsy to use on its own for this technique.  I cut the foiled cardstock into strips and randomly cut triangles from that.  I applied tacky glue to the back of each piece and randomly laid the pieces on a base on Recollections Bronze cardstock.  It was a pretty cool technique, but awefuly

The next step was the flowers.  I used the Spellbinders Pointsetta dies to create the petals from Bazzille cardstock (Cranberry and a textured silver).  I shaped the flowers with my stylus sponged the edges with Distress ink and glued the layers together with a mini popdot.  I finished them by adding silver Liquid Pearls to the centers.

The cute snowman stamp was stamped and heat embossed.  I colored the scroll background with a red Distress marker and then again with a glitter pen.  The green holly on his hat was colored with a Gellyroll green Glaze pen.  The scarf was filled in with purple stickles.

Once all the pieces were created, I assembled the tag on a red Bazzille cardstock base.  I added some white feathers around the flowers at the bottom.  The punched and sponged month tag was stapled to the top with some sheer red ribbon.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts!
